For a long time now, the tech neighborhood has been buzzing about Samsung's upcoming flagship foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. It was recently reported that the company is going to hold its next Galaxy Unpacked launch event next month, where the screen could be removed from the top of these two premium foldable devices. But now, even before the launch of these two handsets, speculations about their successor models have started.

A new report claims that The next-gen Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 may be powered by the unannounced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Again, the camera specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 have also been revealed in this report. It is known that this phone will feature a triple rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN3 sensor. It is also said to have a 12-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chats. The report also mentions that the company has set a target of 10 million or 10 million units for both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 models.

According to a recent report by TheElec, the upcoming 2023 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 phones could be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The next-generation chip is codenamed SM8550 and Qualcomm is expected to unveil it later this year. Also, the report claims that the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN3 sensor from Samsung Electronics. Again, it is believed that a 12-megapixel selfie camera can be seen in front of the foldable smartphone. However, the camera specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 have not been revealed yet.

The report also states that Samsung has set lower supply targets for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, but this has nothing to do with recent global economic trends. On the other hand, the company's target ratio for both the smartphones is also said to have improved significantly. The report added that the timeline for mass production of the models and specific development verification is still under consideration.

Note that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 handsets are rumored to be launched at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in early August. Both these foldable smartphones are expected to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 octa-core processor. However, Samsung has not yet officially revealed any information about the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 foldable phones.
