Redmi launched the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition smartphone last February. Later in March, the brand announced two more smartphones under the said lineup – Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro. And now, the Beijing-based tech company is reportedly planning to launch two new smartphones named Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro soon.
Recently Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing teased one of their latest smartphones equipped with Qualcomm's most powerful chipset. It is believed that the model in question could be the upcoming Redmi K50S series device.
Posting on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, Lu Weibing has confirmed that their upcoming Redmi flagship smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. In that case, according to this teaser, it can be said that the Redmi K50S series will debut in the Chinese market next August.
Redmi K50S, K50S Pro Smartphone's Expected Specifications
The Redmi K50S Pro phone was recently spotted in the database of 'Compulsory Certification of China' aka 3C or CCC certification site. Whereas, the said device is listed with model number 22081212C (22081212C). Apart from the model number, the listing also reveals some of the specifications of the phone in question. It is known that this 'Pro' model of the Redmi K50S series will support 120 W Hypercharge fast charging technology. Besides, this upcoming handset will have a battery capacity of 5,000 mAh.
The Redmi K50S Pro is believed to be the world's first smartphone to come with a 200-megapixel camera sensor. Besides, this model is also said to offer an LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 256GB of onboard storage. Incidentally, Xiaomiui claimed in an earlier published report that the standard model of the series i.e. Redmi K50S will be launched with the codename 'Diting' and the model number 22071212AC (22071212AC). On the other hand, the Redmi K50S Pro phone has been codenamed 'Plato'.
Incidentally, the upcoming Redmi K50S and K50S Pro phones are rumored to debut in the global market as Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro. However, it is not possible to say for sure how true this news is.
