Although Taiwan-based technology company Asus is well-known as the maker of personal computers and laptops, the company's ROG Phone and Zenfone series of devices have gained considerable popularity among smartphone buyers.
The company has recently unveiled the Asus ROG Phone 6 series gaming smartphones. And this time Asus has shared a promo video of the upcoming Asus Zenfone 9, which gives a hint about the design as well as the specifications of this phone. The handset of this new Zenfone series is expected to launch soon, but the company has not yet confirmed the exact date of its launch. In the video, a punch-hole cutout is seen in the upper left corner of the upcoming Asus Zenfone 9 and it is also reported to be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

The promo video of the new Asus Zenfone 9 has been posted on a YouTube channel called Fenibook. In the video, the smartphone is seen in multiple color options with a punch-hole display design. The handset will also have a 5.9-inch Samsung AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is said to be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Zen1 chipset. The back panel of the Zenfone 9 features a dual camera module with an LED flash, which will support a six-axis gimbal stabilizer. This camera unit will have a 50 megapixel Sony IMX8 primary sensor. It may also include an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
Also according to the video, the upcoming Asus Zenfone 9 will come with a 4,300mAh battery. It can offer dual stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack for a better audio experience. The handset is reported to have an IP8 rating for dust and water resistance.
Note that the Asus ZenFone 9 model will come as a successor to the Asus ZenFone 8 which was launched in some selected markets in May last year. At the time of launch, the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variant of the predecessor model was priced at 599 Euros (around Rs 53,200). The ZenFone 8 offers a 120 Hz Samsung AMOLED display. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 chipset, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. For photography, it has a dual rear camera unit with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. In addition, the phone has a 4,000 mAh battery and IP68-certified build.
