Author: Dell recently announced a new gaming laptop in the global market, named Dell G16. To see, the new Dell G16 gaming laptop has been launched a full month after the launch of the G15 AMD Edition gaming laptop with AMD Ryzen chipset in India. Talking about the features, the model in question comes with G-Sync technology-supported display panel, a 12th generation Intel Core H-series processor, up to 16 GB RAM and three different style keyboard designs.

The new Dell G16 is marketed as an 'affordable' gaming laptop option. It features a 16-inch display panel, which supports 2,560x1,600 pixel resolution, variable refresh rate up to 165 Hz, 300 nits peak brightness and 16:10 aspect ratio. In this case, this aspect ratio helped fit a 16-inch display in the laptop's 15-inch chassis. To put it more simply, the display panel of the laptop in question is not large in size, but its display has an additional 11% screen space. Due to which, the screen will look like 16-inch even though it is 15-inch. Incidentally, this display comes with support for G-Sync technology.
Talking about the internal specifications, the new Dell G16 gaming laptop comes equipped with 12th generation Intel Core i7-12700H processor. This processor, has a 14-core architecture with 20-thread chip, which offers a maximum clock speed of 4.70 GHz. The laptop comes configured with up to 16GB of 4,800MHz DDR5 RAM. And its base model has 512 GB of internal storage. However, there is an option to upgrade the laptop's storage capacity up to 2 terabytes.
This Dell laptop is available in three video graphics card options. The first of which is – the RTX 3050 Ti GPU with 4GB of GDDR6 memory, which can deliver 90W of power in the base model. The second option is – RTX 3060 Ti GPU. And, the third one is – RTX 3070 Ti GPU, which comes with 8GB GDDR6 memory and 140W power supply capacity. This triple GPU configuration is ideal for gaming laptops with a QHD resolution display However, there are three different style options to choose from when it comes to keyboard design as well. As such, a one-zone RGB keyboard will be provided by default. But if users want – they can upgrade the model to add CherryMX switches and per-key lighting style.
The two high-end models of the Dell G16 laptop additionally get a Thunderbolt 4 port for connectivity. And for every other variant – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI 2.1, three USB Type-A ports, an Ethernet port and a headphone jack are included. The gaming laptop variants come with 56WHr or 86WHr capacity batteries.

The Dell 16 gaming laptop starts at $1,400 (roughly Rs. 1,11,900 in Indian price) and goes on sale today, July 20. The information about when it will be launched in India is still unknown.
