Mediatek Dimensity 9000+: MediaTek unveils more powerful Dimensity 9000 Plus processor

Last year, Taiwan-based chipset maker MediaTek launched their next-generation MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship processor, the world's first 4-nanometer fabrication chipset. This chip is naturally able to provide a fairly high-quality performance. And this time MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ processor was unveiled in the market as an upgraded version of MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This new smartphone chip is basically the same as the Dimensity 9000, but it will also see some significant improvements. As claimed by the company, it will support screen refresh rate up to 160 Hz for full-HD + resolution and its GPU will be about 10 percent faster than before. Let us know in detail about the upgraded features of the new Dimensity 9000 +.

MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus Specification

The MediaTek Dimension 9000 Plus processor will support 144 Hz refresh rate for WQHD + resolution and up to 180 Hz for full-HD + display. In terms of performance, the company claims that the MediaTek Dimension 9000 Plus CPU will see about 5 percent improvement and about 10 percent faster GPU. It integrates ARM's V9 CPU architecture with a 4-nanometer process.

Again, the Dimension 9000 Plus has an Ultra-Cortex-X2 core running at 3.2 GHz, three Super Cortex-610 cores and four Efficiency Cortex-510 cores. For graphics processing, it has a built-in ARM Mali-G610 Mac10 GPU. This octa-core chip comes with an advanced image signal processor (ISP). It features the Imagiq 790 ISP, which offers 16-bit HDR video recording from three cameras, as well as sensors up to 320 megapixels for 4K HDR and AI noise cancellation.

In addition, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 + network modem has been updated and now supports downlinks up to 8 Gbps. It has support for 5G / 4G Dual SIM Dual Active, enabling users to use both networks simultaneously. It also includes Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 8E and the latest GNSS standard.

Note that MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ will hit the market in the third quarter of this year. But so far, the company has not said which of the first devices powered by this new processor will have smartphones from the company.
