Popular smartphone maker IQO today (June 21) secretly unveiled their new U-series handset, the iQOO U5e, in the home market in China. This high-budget range device has emerged as the most affordable 5G smartphone in the Chinese market. The iQOO U5e has debuted IPS LCD displays and MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipsets.

The ICO U5E comes to the Chinese market in two memory configurations. The handset is priced at 1,399 Yuan (around Rs 16,310) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at 1,499 Yuan (around Rs 16,500). Interested buyers will be able to choose the Ico U5E in two color options - Dark Black and Silver White. The company has not yet confirmed whether the new Ico phone will be available in markets outside China.

The Ico U5E has a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display panel with a teardrop notch for a selfie camera. This screen offers HD + resolution, 20: 9 aspect ratio, 60 Hz refresh rate and 269 ppi pixel density. The device is powered by MediaTek Dimension 600 chipset. The ICO U5E comes with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The handset runs on Android 12 based OriginOS Ocean custom skin.
For photos and videography, the dual camera setup on the back panel of the iQOO U5e features a 13-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and an LED flash. There is also an 8 megapixel front camera on the front of the phone for selfies and video calls. Both front and rear cameras support full HD video recording.
Above all, for power backup, the iQOO U5e comes with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 16 watts of fast charging. Also, the new Ico phone includes dual SIM support, 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. For security, a fingerprint scanner is embedded in the power button on the right end of the iQOO U5e and it also supports the Face Unlock feature. The device measures 184 x 75.64 x 7.25 mm and weighs about 193 grams. Note that this phone is a rebranded version of the Vivo Y33s 5G, which debuted in China in March.
